A Wet Day in the Nation’s Capital

First of all, a last picture from my trip up–a lovely log and cordwood barn.

I thought Easter Sunday might be a good day to go downtown and take some pictures on Parliament Hill but what a day!  It was slogging down.  I would be trying to hold the umbrella and take a picture.  My poor elderly camera takes a while to get ready, and by the time I was ready take the picture, the lens was covered in raindrops.  But anyway, I was pleased with the results.  If you want a picture of what the Peace Tower looks like, this isn’t the place, but if you like atmospheric, misty scenes of the Peace Tower, voila.

Some poor schmucks trying to keep warm over the fire.

The main gate.

Over the main door–the animal that built this country–the beaver.

The view from the front steps.

These were two friendly Syrian refugee girls who were enjoying the capital, and their paper said in Arabic, “Happy Birthday–We Love You”

More soggy scenery tomorrow.
