Just a small blog today. I haven’t been out and about much. Most of these are from walking back and forth to work.
This was taken last week, along Raglan Road, when we still had a bit of snow left.
Tuesday was a mess. It snowed all day, then in the evening it turned to freezing rain, and then rain. By the next morning, it was gloriously sunny and most of the snow from the day before was gone. I thought this was a pretty door, along Rideau Street.
This is a duplex, and it looks like they have a lovely stone walled patio in the back which stretches across both homes. Lovely.
Wednesday from Rideaucrest. The river doesn’t know whether to melt or freeze. Today there is a big open channel up the river again. I heard on the radio today that they were hoping that the World Ice Boating Championships would be here, but you can’t have ice boating without ice. There is nothing on the lake yet.
I showed the construction on this place from the other side one time, but from this angle you can see that it is not just an add-on, it is a whole other house built onto the side of the other house. Looks very nice too–lots of lovely big windows. There seems to have been a lot of major renos going on this year, from what I have seen.
It started raining again on Wednesday night and all day Thursday and that washed away anything left of the snow, and even quite a bit of the old stuff that had turned to ice at the sides of the roads, which is great. The dark shape on the left of this picture, taken at the Kingston Center, is a big old dirty snow pile. Today has gone back to being cold again but by Monday it will be mild and there is no snow expected for the next week, according to today’s Weather Network forecast.
