First of all, I found three pictures from Saturday night that I had missed. Maybe it’s a bit late, but I might as well use them.
The group’s trucks around the KRock Center.
This was around 4:30. People were gathering on Tragically Hip Way.
A check point and the stage.
I watched the CKWS news yesterday and everyone was patting themselves on the back, the police, the mayor and the entertainment people. Can’t blame them really–it did go off very well. I didn’t mention that the buses were free that night as well, which was terrific.
Yesterday was the last day for the Marine Museum at it’s long time location on Ontario Street. After a lot of political back and forth, the land was sold and the museum is moving to Portsmouth Harbour. I think I heard that that was a temporary location, but that that could change. I don’t know if they are open there yet, or when they might be.
I’ve never been down here before because the museum always had it closed off.
The Shipyards and Caravel apartment buildings with the end of Lower Union Street in the middle.
Look what else is happening! The barns at the memorial center are coming down, or at least this barn. The fair starts on Sept. 15th.
