The clouds came and went today, but it was mostly a lovely day.
The demolition at Wellington and Princess. The Golden Rooster is now the last building on the block. Look at all those wonderful stones. I wonder if those would ever be re-used, or if it is just trash.
Little baby lilacs.
Looking west across the Cataraqui River. I couldn’t read what the boat was, but it looked like a fire boat. It came back a few minutes later, so I think they were just trying something out.
The leaves are coming along slowly. I would imagine that they are behind what they would usually be, because of the unusually cool weather. I noticed on the heron cam from Vancouver that the leaves are far ahead of ours.
At Hwy 15 and Gore Road there is the Pittsburgh Branch Library, a dog park, a community garden and this parkland. It is a delightful spot, next to the river.
Look at the bark on this! Underneath was evidence of nuts–not sure what kind, but walnut-like shells. Looking at walnut trees online, it doesn’t look like the same bark. I wonder if Joan, our nature expert, is reading?
I’ll post some more pictures of this outing tomorrow.
