Well, we seem to be getting the previous two and an half month’s snow today. It has been coming all night and is still going strong now, at 3pm. Apparently schools, the Cat Center and lots of other things have shut down early. The plows have barely made a dent yet, and it is slippery underfoot. Not a good day to have to get anywhere.
The neighbour’s car, outside my window. Now the snow is up over the wheel wells.
A couple of views of Montreal St., from John Street.
Heading into the virgin snow on Rideau Street. It’s either that or walk on the road–and that’s not a good option on this busier street.
You can’t see it, but this iron box says “Letters” on the top–an old mailbox at yet another of John A. Macdonald’s homes.
Three energetic young people were shovelling like mad and had made these piles. They still had quite a bit to do, so you get the idea of how much there is.
More snow removal on Balaclava Street.
Some starlings were having a twittering good time. This house does a lot of gardening, so maybe there were some stray seedy bits left from the fall. Some kids down the street were also having fun on their snow day. Their dad had shovelled the snow from the driveway into mountains, and they were tobogganing down them.
This picture is mostly of mesh, but behind the mesh is the gorgeous kitty from next door. She seems to enjoy watching snow coming down. She is always in the window when it’s snowing.
If you haven’t heard from me by the end of the week, send someone to dig me out.
