Central Guelph is so lovely. I have spent years walking around the streets and admiring the old homes. My feeling is that the downtown area of Guelph is much prettier than Kingston, but it doesn’t have the Lake or the history, and I don’t think it has the dynamism of Kingston. It is not a tourist destination, but it is close to Stratford and Toronto and not far from Niagara Falls. I tried living there once, but returned to Kingston quickly. It is great to be able to visit that area though, the only drawback being that one has to drive through Toronto to get there.
Here are some more of the elegant homes of Guelph.
This grand home looks over the treed expanse of Exhibition Park.
I love this vine with the red berries!
This one is interesting.
Two of Edwin Street–one of my favourite streets.
Tomorrow I head home, via Eden Mills and Picton.
