Well, this is a strange Christmas indeed, with temperatures running in the mid teens. People are out golfing, flowers are coming up in my garden, kids are out in shorts and there are no skating rinks. The days are getting longer now and I am totally diggin’ this green Christmas. And today there was SUN!
These three are from a couple of nights ago, when I was on my way home about 10:30 pm, after seeing the fantastic new Star Wars movie out at the Cineplex. The top one is in front of the Memorial Center. Some areas were quite foggy and I was hoping this would be too, but not so much. The middle one is people waiting outside the Stages nightclub, or for us old timers, the Hyland Theatre. And the bottom is a house on King St.
What did I tell you? Flowers in my garden!
Most rinks are just boards, with no attempt at ice yet. They tried with this one. The skating music is playing, but there are only slippery puddles.
Three different kinds of window ornamentation along Ontario Street.
This is a piece of land at Collin’s Bay Road and Taylor Kidd. It is private property, but the owners used to leave it open for people to walk with their dogs. I always wanted to stop there with a borrowed dog, but never made it, and then I read something similar to this in the Whig.
These are all of the Parrott’s Bay Conservation Area, just south of Odessa. There are entrances on Taylor-Kidd and also Hwy. 33. I had never been there before, but it was quite lovely, with good groomed gravel paths. I will have to check it out more thoroughly another day.
