The day today is very dark and drizzly, but a warmer temperature than I was expecting. Loving this Vancouver winter in Ontario!
Two bits of big news from Kingston. City Council is in the process of choosing a designer for the third crossing bridge, that would go from the end of John Counter Blvd. to the east shore of the Cataraqui. It will be years yet before it is finished. Also, the Norman Rogers Airport is getting a major expansion, with a longer runway, hopefully making it possible for direct flights to sunny climes for winter weary Kingstonians. This one is due to be done by fall 2016.
We don’t call our universities here “Ivy League” but they could be. Interesting patterns. The last one has a nest included.
These two turned out fuzzy because I was trying to sneak off a quick picture. It was some sort of student hi-jinks. The second year students had arranged it that the first years students couldn’t touch their jackets with their hands. The guy below is trying to untie his jacket from the pole with his feet. Before that he was trying with his teeth.
The back of the Court House.
Sydenham School. I was present once when two elderly ladies, both named Joan, suddenly realized that they had gone to this school together 60-odd years before. They had been in a class with 5 Joans!
