It was another hazy day in our fair city.
This is the Amherst Island ferry, filling in while the Wolfe Island III is in for inspection. It lands at the winter dock, but for pedestrians, there is a shuttle bus into Marysville.
Where I had lunch. I think it is the Wolfe Island Grill (?)
I first noticed this house in 2012. It was sitting, abandoned and unpainted and I wondered why such a beautiful little place was in such a sorry condition. Anyway, it is thought to be one of the oldest houses on Wolfe Island. It was lived in by a bachelor from 1915-1985. He wasn’t into home improvement. Then a family had it as a cottage. Also in 2012, I took a picture of an old wheelchair on someone’s porch. It is basically a wooden chair with wheels. It has ended up here, in the Old House Museum.
I just noticed after I got home, that the “Fargo’s” sign is off and it has been all re-decorated inside. New owners?
The other store in town, Mosiers. It has the cheap ice cream. I always like to visit both.
These hibiscus (hibisci?) were the size of bread and butter plates!
The Wolfe Island Bakery has been here for a long time. They have a store in Kingston and are always at the markets. Notice a friendly white cat has come around for treats.
The Dreamcatcher’s Inn B&B. Beautiful place. It’s For Sale!
