I decided to take a late afternoon drive up to Westport yesterday, just for a change of scenery. Westport is a gloriously beautiful spot, popular with artists, and in the summer, tourists. In the winter it is very quiet. Some of the stores were still closed for the season, alas, the ice cream and fudge shop being one of them. Like Picton, most stores closed up at 5pm. Coming from Vancouver, where nothing every closes, that took me by surprise again and I was caught short in my looking around the shops.
We’re in cottage country.
Look what is out. I think this is forsythia, or maybe Scottish broom?
I liked the colours in this scene.
This is the back of the local museum.
Looking across to Foley’s Mountain. The road is closed to all by local traffic–don’t know why or for how far.
More Westport tomorrow.
